CARDIOLOGY OUTPATIENT CLINIC
In the cardiology clinic, we provide specialist medical care, including diagnostics and treatment of disorders and defects of the cardiovascular system. Our patients receive precise information about the optimal time and method of the cardio-surgical treatment – bypass grafts, repair/replacement of the heart valves, aortic aneurysm surgeries. We also provide short- and long-term post-operative follow up.
We treat:
- hypertension
- coronary artery disease
- ischaemic heart disease
- heart failure
- arrhythmia
- cardiomyopathy
- heart defects
As part of the cardiological diagnostics, we perform the following tests:
- Cardiac CT – angiography of the coronary arteries
- Transthoracic and transoesophageal echocardiography – ultrasound examination of the heart allowing the assessment of its contractility and evaluation of the work of the heart valves, which allows the presence of congenital or acquired heart defects to be diagnosed
- Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) – the key test in assessing the 24-hour blood pressure; on its basis, we can initiate appropriate pharmacological treatment and evaluate its effectiveness
- Holter ECG – allows for a 24-hour assessment of the heart rate; thanks to this test, we can accurately assess heart rhythm disturbances that occur, for example, at night
- artery ultrasound
- Cardiac stress test on a treadmill (allows the work of the heart during exercise to be assessed – on a treadmill, the physician continuously assesses the ECG record and changes in the blood pressure during the exercise)
